Kaduna Warns Rumour Mongers on Cabinet Composition

The Kaduna state government has once again come out to public dispel public fears and rumour on the composition of members of the state executive. In a press statement by the Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the governor of the state, Reuben Buhari, the government said that “in view of the various shades of speculations permeating the State and even beyond, on the composition of a new cabinet for Kaduna State, it has become necessary to correct some misconceptions and reassures everybody that the dissolution of the cabinet by the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Ibrahim Patrick Yakowa was meant to allow him put together a crack team that would vigorously pursued the attainment of the 11-point Agenda.

“However, considering the fact that the Governor needed to have a complete picture of the level of performance of each Ministry in the State, he took turn to debrief the former Commissioners and their Permanent Secretaries on the level of performances of each Ministry and their various activities.

“Therefore, the Governor wishes to assure all inhabitants of the State that the immediate non-composition of a new cabinet has nothing to do with the unfounded rumours and wild speculations being bandied around, but a deliberate attempt by him to get the best, most competent and credible hands that would aid him in moving the State forward. Soon, a new and vibrant cabinet, meant to improve from where the last cabinet stopped would be in place.

“Meanwhile, the Permanent Secretaries of the various Ministries who have proven to be very competent and capable of running the various Ministries, have continued to ensure that no aspect of the State suffers from any neglect and that no Ministry fails to effectively discharge its functions.”

In another development the Kaduna State Governor, Mr. Patrick Yakowa has requested the federal government to complete the Kaduna-Eastern Bypass road noting that it is very vital to the economic/social well being of the people of the state. He said the state would accord all necessary supports to fast-track the completion of the project. The governor stated this when he visited the Minister of Work, Senator Sanusi Daggash in Abuja.

The Minister of Works, Senator Sanusi Mohammed Daggash expressed the determination of Government to actualize the construction of the Kaduna eastern bypass. He said that the Ministry would work out meaningful arrangements for the completion of the bypass with the contractor and the state government. He promised that efforts are on to release within two weeks all the necessary plans that would ensure timely completion.
